ARISTA/NASHVILLE group JYPSI are set to perform the national anthem to open THE RECORDING ACADEMY’s GRAMMYS ON THE HILL AWARDS. The GRAMMYS ON THE HILL take place in WASHINGTON, D.C. TODAY (4/14) and TOMORROW (4/15). The event aims to connect top music makers with members of CONGRESS “to inform policy makers of the important role that the recording arts play in the nation’s culture and economy.”
GRAMMY ON THE HILL will be hosted by songwriter PAUL WILLIAMS and this year’s honorees include Country star GARTH BROOKS, U.S Senate Majority Whip DICK DURBIN (D-IL), and U.S. Representative DARRELL ISSA (R-CA).
JYPSI will also participate in the GRAMMYS ON THE HILL ADVOCACY DAY TODAY (4/15). They will perform at an afternoon media event as part of a musical demonstration of wireless concert technology at the CAPITOL VISITOR’S CENTER AUDITORIUM on CAPITOL HILL. Past musical events have included such artists as KELLY CLARKSON, GLORIA ESTEFAN and BEBE WINANS.
