TALLGRASS BROADCASTING, LLC has gone into receivership, with CHRIS OLDROYD appointed by the court as receiver and MYTOWN MEDIA/JOPLIN Regional Dir. of Sales JOHN THOMASON joining as GM for TALLGRASS' INDEPENDENCE, KS cluster. OLDROYD is working in conjunction with lender SPIRITBANK of TULSA to help restructure the company's debt and operations.
Former CBS NEWS anchor and A&E and MSNBC documentary producer/host BILL KURTIS, co-owner of TALLGRASS with JOE WALKER, called the move "good news, and a positive step for the stations considering the current economic climate."
On THOMASON's hiring, OLDROYD said, "John is going to be a great asset for KIND AM and 102.9 ROCKS (KIND-F). I think our clients will really like find he has a lot of great ideas."
