Sporting News Radio Moving To Houston

SPORTING NEWS RADIO will move its programming operations to HOUSTON, reports the HOUSTON CHRONICLE's DAVID BARRON.
The network, programming operations of which are presently based in SANTA MONICA, CA, has moved under the operation of MISSION MEDIA GROUP, an ARIZONA-based company headed by SPORTING NEWS RADIO Pres. CLANCY WOODS; GOW COMMUNICATIONS owner DAVID GOW has purchased a majority stake in MISSION and will become Chairman of the company, moving the operation and making his Sports KGOW-A/HOUSTON the network's flagship.
AMERICAN CITY BUSINESS JOURNALS retains ownership of the SPORTING NEWS brand, website and publications.
WOODS formed MISSION MEDIA GROUP in first quarter 2010; he has been President of SPORTING NEWS RADIO since 2004. Besides GOW, WOODS' backers include AVISTA CAPITAL Co-Manager/Co-CEO STEVE WEBSTER, NELNET, INC. Vice Chairman STEPHEN BUTTERFIELD, and NORTEX CORP. VP/Gen. Counsel PATRICK DUGAN.
