EL PASO's "BOYCOTT ARIZONA" group has targeted the local CLEAR CHANNEL cluster building for one of its protests of ARIZONA's controversial new immigration law. The group's leader, JAIME ABEYTIA, tells NBC affiliate KTSM-TV/EL PASO that CLEAR CHANNEL and EL PASO REPUBLICAN PARTY headquarters are two locations for protests this week.
The group is calling for a boycott of businesses based in ARIZONA, like COLD STONE CREAMERY and CIRCLE K, to place pressure on the businesses to in turn pressure political leaders to drop the new law, and is targeting companies it says contribute to or support the ARIZONA REPUBLICAN PARTY, such as JP MORGAN CHASE and CLEAR CHANNEL.
