HOWDYLAND PRODUCTIONS' new "NEWS FROM THE GREAT RE-DEPRESSION" daily podcast and feature has announced a deal with THE FUNNY TIMES, the monthly cartoon newspaper, for sponsorship and co-promotion. The deal, inked by HOWDYLAND co-founders P.S. (PETE) MUELLER and STEVE GOTCHER with FUNNY TIMES principals AY LESSER and SUE WOLPERT, will promote the radio/podcast feature in the paper starting with the JUNE issue and weekly e-mail newsletter, and HOWDYLAND will add a headline sponsor tag for the paper. Both parties’ websites will feature and promote each other's products.
"We believe this is a very cozy deal," MUELLER, the longtime cartoonist and co-creator and voice (as "Doyle Redland") of "ONION RADIO NEWS," joked in a press release unveiling the partnership. FUNNY TIMES' goal for the partnership, the release stated, is "to bend all of humanity to their insidious will."
"NEWS FROM THE GREAT RE-DEPRESSION" "provides listeners with under-reported news about the heroic struggles and ghastly events that shape this wretched era," presented by "anchor/photograph Stanley Douglas."
