NEW YORK KNICKS fans badly want LEBRON JAMES to sign with the bedraggled franchise, so the team's radio flagship, ESPN Sports WEPN-A (1050 ESPN)/NEW YORK is launching "LEBRON WATCH," a series eyeing the free agent's next career move, with the debut TONIGHT as a three-hour special hosted by JON ROTHSTEIN. The series will continue with daily updates on JAMES and other free agents on the market.
JAMES is freshly available after his CLEVELAND CAVALIERS lost the NBA Eastern Conference semi-finals to BOSTON, with JAMES widely panned for his performance amidst speculation about his injured elbow and desire to leave the team. Fans at TD GARDEN in BOSTON taunted JAMES with chants of "NEW YORK KNICKS" during Game 6. Meanwhile, the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS and NEW YORK MAGAZINE have devoted front page stories to JAMES and the city's longing for his presence.
