Having just closed on its purchase of silent KJAC/TIMNATH-DENVER, CO-KCUV/GREENWOOD VILLAGE, CO-K245AD/ARVADA, CO and two boosters in BOULDER from NRC BROADCASTING for $5 million, MORELAND PROPERTIES, LLC is assigning the stations to another company also headed by DOUG MORELAND, FRONT RANGE SPORTS NETWORK, LLC in exchange for "a document which forgives all principal and interest otherwise owed by Seller under the Loan," namely a $5 million loan that allowed MORELAND PROPERTIES to buy the stations. FRONT RANGE partners include former KOA-A and KKFN-A/DENVER sports host TOM "LOU FROM LITTLETON" MANOOGIAN, ESPN football commentator and former DENVER POST sportswriter ADAM SCHEFTER, sports business manager MARTY GAROFALO, and former CHICAGO BEARS linebacker LEE KUNZ, among others.
In other deals filed with the FCC, control of FIRST BROADCASTING OF NEVADA, INC., licensee of Spanish Hits KXTO-A (EXITOS 1550)/RENO, is being transferred from STANLEY KLEIN through Conservator DANIEL STUBBS to IRA LITTMAN under court order. LITTMAN will pay $10,000 to the conservatorship for the station,
And B C BROADCASTING COMPANY, INC. is assigning FM translator W275BN/BLACKEY, KY (CP to become 278BK/JENKINS, KY) to LETCHER COUNTY BROADCASTING, INC., which will in turn pay $20,000 to APPALSHOP, INC., which will complete the three way deal by sending 272CM/WALLINS CREEK. KY to B C.
JERRY EVANS has applied for a booster for Talk KKFT (99.1 FM TALK)/GARDNERVILLE-RENO, NV at STATELINE, NV. The booster would use 3,250 watts at 71 meters.
In silent STA filings, CITADEL has asked for an extension of the time to keep WIBR-A/BATON ROUGE off the air to repair damage sustained from Tropical Storm Gustav; SOUTHWESTERN ADVENTIST UNIVERSITY has notified the Commission that it has taken noncommercial KJCR/KEENE, TX off the air for repairs during the SUMMER after a fire several months ago damaged the station's studios; JAMES B. BLEIKAMP has taken WCME-A/BRUNSWICK, ME off the air to resolve STL interference issues; and CALVARY CHAPEL OF TWIN FALLS, INC. has taken FM translator W220BX/MARIETTA, OA off the air due to losing its transmitter site.
