New Hit Radio Ends Sunday, June 6th

HIT PARADE RADIO has announced that it will cease all operations at noon CT on SUNDAY, JUNE 6th. Operations Dir. VIC THOMAS attributed the closure to a lack of funding. "it all comes down to money, and over the last couple of weeks, for various reasons, our major funding sources have gone away, including HARRIS BROADCASTING, who decided not to move forward," he told affiliates.
"I know for many of you it has already been a source of profit, but the expectations were to make it better than ever," he continued. "Unfortunately, that takes money. Call it the bad economy, the current state of the broadcasting industry, or just bad timing. Whatever the causes, we gave it our best shot."
