Longtime SOUTH FLORIDA traffic reporter PAUL CAVENAUGH has accepted a settlement in his lawsuit against the helicopter company which owned the chopper that crashed on NOVEMBER 11, 2008 and caused him to sustain injuries to his lower back. The PALM BEACH POST reports that WILLIAM WILLIAMS, the attorney for CAVENAUGH (aka PAUL KASPRZYK), who sued AIR COASTAL HELICOPTERS for his injuries, said CAVENAUGH was "satisfied with the results and glad to put it behind him."
CAVENAUGH's suit claimed that the crash was caused by poor maintenance (the NTSB pegged the cause of the crash as a loose nut).
The crash came as CAVENAUGH's contract to provide traffic reports for JAMES CRYSTAL RADIO Talk WFTL-A/WEST PALM BEACH-FORT LAUDERDALE and CBS affiliate WPEC-TV (CBS 12)/WEST PALM BEACH were ending due to budget considerations.
