NAMM, NEXT BIG NASHVILLE, AMERICAN SONGWRITER, the NASHVILLE MUSICIANS UNION, MUSICARES, SESAC and ASCAP have teamed up to launch “The BIG Gear Giveback,” a nationwide gear donation drive for working musicians who lost their gear during the NASHVILLE flood. The donation drive will be celebrated with a special showcase event on JUNE 18th at the HARD ROCK CAFÉ in NASHVILLE, featuring THE APACHE RELAY and MEGAN McCORMICK, with special guests BLACKFOOT GYPSIES.
The NASHVILLE MUSICIANS ASSOCIATION has created a specific gear relief fund and will be working companies to match each musician's needs with specific product donations. Those affected should upload the specific equipment, instruments or software those lost in the flood online here.
Those who will attend the NASHVILLE SUMMER NAMM should bring the gear to the NMA and MUSICARES.org booths at the convention. Companies not attending but wishing to donate should contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Companies can also get involved by donating cash to the MUSICCARES.org NASHVILLE RELIEF FUND, spreading the word to your audience by posting a MUSICARES.org Donation Banner on your website or supporting the NMA by clicking here. All donations will go towards a fund created for NASHVILLE musicians.
In other news, the NEXT BIG NASHVILLE 2010 artist submission deadline has been extended one more week, to JUNE 21st. Click here for more info.
