June 11, 2010 at 5:16 AM (PT)
Earning higher ratings and revenue, getting your station noticed and making a difference in your community -- these are the goals for the Promotions Summit at the 35th annual CONCLAVE LEARNING CONFERENCE on THURSDAY, JULY 15th at the DOUBLETREE HOTEL/MINNEAPOLIS.
The Promotions Summit begins THURSDAY at 1p with C.O.P.S./Community-Oriented Promo Session -- How To Make A Difference In Your Community. C.O.P.S. will be led by WILV/CHICAGO PD BARRY JAMES, and will highlight some of the best community service campaigns in the business.
At 2p, NEW CAP RADIO VP/Programming STEVE JONES will lead Brainblitz/Slaying Cliché Promotions. The session will be an intense hour of brainstorming new ideas to solve the timeless radio promotion challenges.
At 3p, Client Intervention/Win The Business And Keep Your Soul will help you develop strategies to handle the never-ending stream of value-added requests that arrive on your desk, daily. CBS RADIO/NEW YORK Dir./Integrated Marketing SAMMY SIMPSON will help identify opportunities to satisfy your clients while keeping the integrity of your radio station intact.
The Promo Summit closes with the 4p session: The Street Hacker’s Guide to the Universe. CLIFTON VP/Fun'NGames and CPR Honcho PAIGE NEINABER will teach you how to take no prisoners in the radio game of street warfare. The session will address the entire spectrum of street promotion -- from who to hire and where to go, to the tiniest details, like how to hang the banners and drive the van (hint: never do both at the same time).
