Georgia-born singer-songwriter LARRY JON WILLSON died from a stroke on MONDAY (6/21) while visiting family in ROANOKE, VA. He was 69.
WILSON – a contemporary of KRIS KRISTOFFERSON, STEVE EARLE, TOWNES VAN ZANDT and others – released four critically acclaimed albums in the ‘70s while living in NASHVILLE and then went silent for over almost 30 years before releasing “The Larry Jon Wilson Album” in 2008.
That project ended up getting him a new generation of followers, especially in the U.K. and EUROPE.
