APPLE, which owns the world's #1 music store with its iTUNES site, YESTERDAY (6/22) said it sold three million iPADS in just 80 days. The news comes just days before the company ships the new iPHONE 4. THE NEW YORK POST reports sales for the iPAD have been strong since its U.S. debut on APRIL 3rd despite shortages that led APPLE to delay the international release by a month.
"We're working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more people around the world," APPLE CEO STEVE JOBS said in a statement.
The iPAD started off strong and is growing, notes the report. "One million iPADS were sold in the first month -- and the two million mark was hit in less than 60 days. The last million were picked up in just 20 days."
Shares of APPLE rose 1.1% to $273.85 on a down day for the rest of the market. Follow APPLE's stock here.
