White Supremacist Candidate's Ads Don't Have To Run

MISSOURI broadcasters have heard back from the FCC about whether they have to carry campaign commercials from a white supremacist candidate -- and they don't. MISSOURI State Attorney General CHRIS KOSTER, along with the MISSOURI BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION and ENTERCOM, had filed a request (NET NEWS 4/19) for a determination of the issue with the FCC.

MISSOURI BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION attorney MARK SABLEMAN told THE KANSAS CITY STAR that the Federal Communications Commission recently told the association that MILLER isn’t a "bona fide" candidate, and therefore doesn’t qualify for uncensored access to the airwaves.

"We’re glad to have clarity," SABLEMAN said. "The MILLER commercials certainly don’t meet the suitability requirements of most stations."

MILLER said he was upset with the FCC’s ruling. "They don’t like what I say," he told the newspaper.
