Brits Slow To Adopt Digital

The U.K. is having just as much difficulty launching digital radio as the U.S., and now the BBC reports, "There is 'no compulsion' to stick to a plan to switch over from FM to digital radio by 2015, communications minister ED VAIZEY has said. He will announce a Digital Radio Action Plan later in a bid to encourage more listeners to move from analogue."
VAIZEY told BBC RADIO 4's Today programme, "We are committed to digital radio but haven't set a date. If people are still listening to, say, the BBC on FM by 2015, then that will continue".
The BBC writes that VAIZEY is expected to say in his speech that a switchover decision will be made when more than half of radio listeners have converted to digital.
