Former L.A., Baltimore Host Jack Wells Dies

Condolences to family and friends of former WITH-A and WCBM-A/BALTIMORE and KABC-A/LOS ANGELES personality JACK WELLS, who died JUNE 27th of complications from a stroke in LOS ANGELES at 86.
WELLS started his career at WITH in 1946 after serving in the Army with CHUCK THOMPSON, later the legendary BALTIMORE ORIOLES announcer. WELLS then moved on to WCBM in 1950, and also hosted "DIALING FOR DOLLARS" on WMAR-TV and "THE JACK WELLS SHOW" on WJZ-TV. He later moved to LOS ANGELES, where he hosted a talk show on KABC in the 1960's and launched an acting career, including roles in the TV movie "BRIAN'S SONG" and spots on "THE RIFLEMAN," "THE DORIS DAY SHOW," and soap operas.
