ARISTA/NASHVILLE star CARRIE UNDERWOOD, who is currently on her honeymoon with her new hubby MIKE FISHER, is scheduled to perform on NBC-TV’s TODAY SHOW SUMMER CONCERT SERIES on JULY 30th in NEW YORK CITY. She will be performing with ARISTA/NASHVILLE artist BRAD PAISLEY at the GREENBRIER CLASSIC in FAIRLEA, WV on JULY 31st and will do a few fair and festival dates before kicking off the FALL leg of her “Play On” tour in SEPTEMBER. MERCURY/NASHVILLE artist BILLY CURRINGTON and INTERSCOPE RECORDS act SONS OF SYLVIA will be special guests on the tour.
CARRIE told THE BOOT blog: "As far as touring goes, the bright lights versus nothing, I feel like that kind of thing will always continue to vary from album to album. After the whole [ACM] ‘Entertainer of the Year’ win, I felt like it was time to kind of have more 'wow' moments in the show. And I might follow that up next year with an acoustic tour. That would be just about my favorite thing. There's so many moments in the show right now that I absolutely love, I've never done before. They're so exciting because they're so new for me, but my love is singing, and I could stand in front of a microphone and just do that all day long and be so happy with that. So, I think that will go back and forth and just find new ways to keep things interesting for me and the fans."
During the FALL leg of the “Play On” tour, CARRIE will donate 36 cents of every ticket sold to SAVE THE CHILDREN programs. Her dedication to SAVE THE CHILDREN was inspired by the lyrics of the song, “Change,” which states that even the smallest amount of spare change might make a difference and help to change the world.
