A Hungarian appeals court has upheld a lower court ruling in favor of EMMIS COMMUNICATIONS in its battle to regain the license for SLAGER RADIO in HUNGARY.
The Court of Appeals in BUDAPEST upheld the ruling that Hungarian radio regulator ORTT, which lifted EMMIS' license as well as the license of DANUBIUS RADIO and gave the frequencies to entities widely seen as politically connected to the ruling party, should give the frequencies back to their former licensees.
Enforcement of Hungarian court rulings is not assured. FM1 took over SLAGER RADIO's frequencies for its NEO FM, and ADVENIO took over DANUBIUS RADIO's frequencies for the new CLASS FM.
