DOUBLE O RADIO/COLUMBIA, SC GM TIM MILLER tells ALL ACCESS that the cluster is ready to launch changes on both Country WWNU and Classic Hits WWNQ on FRIDAY (7/30). WWNU, which has been Country for six years, will flip to soft AC on FRIDAY (7/30) at noon (ET), as “CAROLINA 92.1 Light Relaxing Easy Favorites.” MILLER said that “music is the star” of the new format and that the station will be very music-intensive, with all local programming.
The new WWNU will launch commercial-free from FRIDAY (7/30) at noon (ET) until MONDAY (8/2) at 6a (ET). MILLER will handle the morning show from 6a-10a (ET) beginning MONDAY (8/2) and more local talent is expected to be announced in the coming weeks. WWNU PD/morning personality CHARLIE JAMES has exited.
CHARLIE is looking for his next opportunity and can be reached at charliejames@sc.rr.com or (803) 634-5470.
Classic Hits WWNQ, formerly using DIALGLOBAL satellite services, will now be locally programmed, beginning FRIDAY (7/30). WWNQ will be rebranding as “94.3 THE RIVER,” and will be announcing an all local “on-air” lineup soon.
