FCC Nixes Challenge To Idaho Noncomm FM Grant

COUNTRY ROOTS PRESERVATION GROUP, INC.'s Petition to Deny the grant by the FCC of a new noncommercial FM at MOSCOW, ID to RADIO FREE MOSCOW, INC. has been denied by the Commission.
COUNTRY ROOTS claimed that RFM did not have reasonable assurance of the availability of its transmitter site, side-mounted on the existing tower of KHTR/PULLMAN, WA; the Commission said that while COUNTRY ROADS produced a statement from KHRT's business manager saying that RFM does not have permission to use the site, RFM's initial application did include a letter from the station manager indicating willingness to lease the space.
The Commission has given RFM 60 days to file an amendment to specify a new site if the original site is unavailable.
