CBS RADIO/CHARLOTTE stations have partnered with CAROWINDS and SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK for the "Intimidate Hunger" campaign. Along with DISTRICT DESIGN and THE ART INSTITUTE OF CHARLOTTE, the stations have created a replica of a stock car built entirely out of 12,000 canned goods, equaling 13,000 pounds of food.
The structure will be on display on SATURDAY, JULY 31st at the Intimidator Plaza at CAROWINDS. Park visitors are encouraged to bring four canned goods to the front gates to receive $15 off regular admission.
"When I was approached with this concept I immediately thought this to be a unique and challenging opportunity," said RYAN DRYE from DISTRICT DESIGN STUDIO.
"This food will find its way into the kitchens of local homes very quickly,” said SHAY MERRITT of the Community Development with SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK.
