A VERMONT radio show is suing a UTAH website over the name "TRUE NORTH." "TRUE NORTH RADIO," hosted by former VERMONT REPUBLICAN PARTY Chairman ROB ROPER and airing on a brokered basis on RADIO VERMONT Talk-Variety WDEV-A-F (RADIO VERMONT)/WATERBURY, VT, has filed a trademark infringement suit against a website that uses the name "TRUE NORTH NEWS AND COMMENTARY," reports the RUTLAND HERALD.
"TRUE NORTH (RADIO) owns common law trademark rights in its mark, 'TRUE NORTH RADIO,'" the lawsuit states, according to the HERALD. "Defendants' use of the mark 'TRUE NORTH NEWS AND COMMENTARY' creates a likelihood of confusion and constitutes trademark infringement."
