SETON HALL UNIV. noncomm WSOU-FM has teamed up with punk/hardcore music/lifestyle magazine DEFINE THE MEANING to participate in Operation Gratitude and ship music CDs to troops serving the U.S. overseas.
The staff of WSOU is collecting CDs from both personal collections and the radio station’s music department. Donations have varied in genre - from selections of WSOU’s Modern/Active Rock format to personal mixes arranged by station DJys.
"WSOU’s student staff has consistently taken part in community service projects and initiatives. We have sent CDs to the troops before through the Operation Metal project," WSOU GM MARK MABEN said. "We are glad to continue providing music for the troops."
"I've been so proud of our staff at WSOU and how they've really stepped up the efforts to give back," Station Manager BRIAN WISOWATY said. "KAREN was gracious to invite us to partner up for Operation Gratitude. We look forward to donating as much as possible, representing the values of hard work and generosity that are linked with WSOU and SETON HALL UNIVERSITY.”
Members of the community wishing to contribute CDs can contact WISOWATY at wsoustationmanager@gmail.com.
