The host of a brokered financial advice show faces fraud charges over his offers of help clearing customers' debt.
ABC affiliate KGTV (TV)/SAN DIEGO reports that DAVE BURKE, whose WESTMINSTER, CO company buys time on several stations, including MIDWEST TV Talk KFMB-A/SAN DIEGO, to air "GET REAL WITH DAVE" on his "REAL TALK NETWORK," was served with a criminal complaint alleging that he and his operation failed to provide the debt relief promised and that BURKE exaggerated his credentials. The complaint noted that BURKE told customers at seminars that "bankruptcy is not an option," yet filed for bankruptcy himself twice in the last 13 years.
BURKE's firm was shut down by a preliminary injunction issued by an ADAMS COUNTY (CO) judge in JULY after an investigation by KGTV sister station, ABC affiliate KMGH-TV/DENVER, led to a raid on BURKE's company in MAY.
