Engineer Electrocuted Making Repairs At WDMS

A contract engineer working at WDMS/GREENVILLE, MS is believed to have been electrocuted THURSDAY while repairing the station's transmitter.
GM STEVE SHELTON says the transmitter failed about 5a THURSDAY, AUGUST 19th. JEROLD CAMPBELL, a subcontractor, was called to make repairs.
CAMPBELL, 73, of OXFORD was pronounced dead about 12:25p after being taken to DELTA REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER. SHELTON says the station's staff offers condolences to CAMPBELL's family.
Details of the accident were not clear. CAMPBELL's body was sent to JACKSON for an autopsy. The death is under investigation.
