A restructuring of THE JOHN BAYLISS BROADCAST FOUNDATION includes the exit of longtime Exec. Dir. KIT HUNTER FRANKE after 25 years and the transfer of administration of its scholarship program and funding to a third-party organization to be announced in the near future. FRANKE will exit after assisting in the transition to using a third-party administrator; the Board of Directors will be appointing a liaison committee to work with the outside administrator.
"During these challenging economic times for our industry, preserving the funding for our mission is our most important goal," said FOUNDATION Chairman GARY FRIES. "We believe these forward-looking actions will allow us to continue our important work of encouraging and supporting young people interested in radio. I thank the Board of Directors for their time and dedication, and we look forward to continuing our tradition of awarding scholarships to bright young students."
"My husband would be proud and overwhelmed to see the FOUNDATION's incredible impact and the accomplishments of our scholarship recipients," said ALICE BAYLISS, wife of JOHN BAYLISS. "KIT has done a tremendous job of managing our program and I want to thank her and the entire Board of Directors for their many years of inspiring service. JOHN believed in helping the next generation and, with these changes, we'll be able to continue his life's work."
