PACIFIC EMPIRE RADIO CORP. is selling Classic Hits KGTM and Sports KRXK-A/REXBURG, ID and Hot AC KBJX (B106)/SHELLEY, ID to JERROLD T. LUNDQUIST's CHAPARRAL BROADCASTING, INC. for $1.5 million plus a time brokerage agreement before closing.
In another deal filed with the FCC, MAPLETON LICENSE OF VISALIA, LLC is selling KBLO/CORCORAN, CA to CCA LICENSE HOLDINGS LLC (CENTRO CHRISTIANO AMISTAD) for $950,000. The buyer has programmed the station under a time brokerage agreement since JULY 15th, 2008.
FAITH BROADCASTING, INC. is selling FM translators W262AR/BREWTON, AL and W278AR/ATMORE, AL to DIVINE WORD COMMUNICATIONS for $55,000. FAITH is also selling W295AP/BAY MINETTE, AL to MEDIA ONE COMMUNICATIONS, INC. for $22,000; W246BN/BAY MINETTE to OMNI BROADCASTING, LLC for $6,000; and W279AT/ROBERTSDALE, AL and W278AP/DAPHNE, AL to GOFORTH MEDIA, INC. for $32,000.
CORNERSTONE COMMUNITY RADIO, INC. is selling the construction permit for WEGN/KANKAKEE, IL to THE POWER FOUNDATION for $50,000.
And WAUKOMIS BAPTIST CHURCH, INC. is selling the construction permit for KWGT/GOLTRY, OK to THE LOVE STATION, INC. for $25,000.
GREAT SCOTT BROADCASTING has asked the FCC for an extension of its silent STA for WPAZ-A/POTTSTOWN, PA, which has been dark since DECEMBER 12th due to "financial hardship." Reports indicate that the licensee is negotiating with a local group for the sale and return to the air of the station (NET NEWS 8/23).
CALVARY CHAPEL OF ALBUQUERQUE, INC. has filed for an extension of its silent STA for KPKJ/MENTMORE, NM, which has been silent since NOVEMBER 21st, 2009 due to loss of its program source.
In a deal not yet filed with the FCC, HAMILTON HIGH SCHOOL, which closed its noncommercial WHSS/HAMILTON, OH in MAY, has sold the station to SACRED HEART RADIO, licensee of Religion WNOP-A/NEWPORT-CINCINNATI and WNOP-F/VERSAILLES, IN, for $156,000, according to the CINCINNATI ENQUIRER's JOHN KIESEWETTER.
And as expected, CLEAR CHANNEL has begin rebroadcasting its Sports KFAM-A/MINNEAPOLIS on FM translator K279AZ/COTTAGE GROVE, MN, which has moved to the IDS CENTER in downtown MINNEAPOLIS, according to MINNPOST.COM's DAVID BRAUER. The translator airs on 103.7 FM and was acquired in a swap with EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION in exchange for programming rights to the HD-2 multicast channel of CC's Urban AC WMXD (MIX 92.3)/DETROIT.
