The FCC has dismissed GLOBAL RADIO, LLC's objection to the license applications of CBS O&O KYW-DT (CBS 3) and ABC O&O WPVI-DT (6ABC)/PHILADELPHIA as moot and has granted the applications.
GLOBAL claimed that the digital signals of the television stations from a tower in the ROXBOROUGH section of PHILADELPHIA interfered with the signal of its Brokered WNWR-A, the towers of which are adjacent to the ROXBOROUGH TV and FM antenna farm and about 1,500 feet from the new tower constructed for the CBS and ABC stations. GLOBAL then filed an application to modify its own license to adjust its pattern to be in compliance with its authorization, which the FCC cited in granting the license applications.
In addition, the initial GLOBAL objections were dismissed as moot because the original 1998 KYW and WPVI applications were dismissed upon commencement of maximized digital TV operations.
