The UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA has added four new members to the GEORGE FOSTER PEABODY AWARDS Board.
Joining the board are BMI VP of Film/TV Relations DOREEN RINGER ROSS; PENN Professor BARBIE ZELIZER; AOL TV critic and former CHICAGO TRIBUNE "THE WATCHER" columnist/blogger MAUREEN RYAN; and BRITISH FILM INSTITUTE Senior Curator of Television STEVE BRYANT.
"The selection of PEABODY AWARD recipients depends on the experience and knowledge of our board members," said awards Director HORACE NEWCOMB. "It also depends on a shared concern for the significance of electronic media in our lives, our societies and cultures. As stewards of the world's oldest award for electronic media, we depend on this kind of personal commitment. Our new colleagues will certainly expand and enrich the discussions and debates that determine each year's very small, select number of recipients."
