A Norwegian newsreader's on-air resignation drew international coverage SATURDAY. ASSOCIATED PRESS reports that PIA BEATHE PEDERSEN went on the air at NRK's OSLO station SATURDAY and told listeners that she wouldn't be reading the news headlines because "nothing important has happened."
She then said she was quitting because management had been putting too much pressure on the staff and she "wanted to be able to eat properly again and be able to breathe."
PEDERSEN had worked for NRK for 18 months.
