ALL ACCESS sends congratulations out to the staff of CITADEL Hot AC WRQX (MIX 107.3)/WASHINGTON D.C. who raised $426,645.00 in their "KIDS RADIOTHON" to benefit the CHILDREN's NATIONAL MEDICAL CENTER.
According to MIX 107.3 Operations Director KENNY KING, "We raised $206,000 last year and we were hoping to get to $300,000 this year. In such a tough economy we were a little worried that a number that high might be difficult to reach. But when the final total was revealed just after 7p, a huge cheer broke out in the atrium of CHILDREN's HOSPITAL, where the broadcast was taking place. No one anticipated the total of over $426,000!"
Afternoon drive host ROB CARSON added, "There was so much energy from the MIX 107.3 staff, volunteers and hospital staff and the phones were ringing like crazy all day. We felt pretty hopeful that we would reach our goal. But, it was just amazing to see final number! There wasn’t a dry eye in the place!"
In addition to the phone and email pledges, thousands of dollars were raised from a special MIX FOR KIDS ONLINE AUCTION and also raised $10,000 with their special "MIX 107.3 GEORGETOWN CUPCAKE."
