WPON Oldies Airing On WCXI For Now

BIRACH BROADCASTONG Oldies WPON-A/WALLED LAKE-PONTIAC, MI has moved its programming to sister WCXI-A/FENTON-FLINT while, it says, it makes improvements to its 1460 AM signal.  WPON has a construction permit to reduce power from 1,000 watts to 670 watts days and from 760 watts to 175 watts at night from a new site.  WCXI has a permit to increase from 1,000 watts nondirectional to 15,000 watts days and 1,000 watts at night, using a new daytime site co-located with WPON's new array and the old site at night.

A message on WPON's website says, "To our valued listeners: We have temporarily shifted the programming from WPON 1460 to WCXI 1160 while we make improvements to serve you better for many years to come on WPON.  Please stay tuned online or on the air on WCXI 1160 and bear with us while we make our best efforts to return to the air just as soon as possible.  We sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding!"
