ALL ACCESS sends get well wishes to CBS RADIO Sports KHTK-A/SACRAMENTO midday host DON GERONIMO, who is recovering from injuries received in a fall from the stage at his live show at CAL EXPO in SACRAMENTO on FRIDAY (10/22).
GERONIMO slipped and fell off the stage near the end of the show and sustained a laceration on his head. He was taken to a local hospital ICU unit and was upgraded to trauma recovery on SUNDAY morning; his prognosis for a full recovery is excellent, producer CARMICHAEL DAVE said SUNDAY. DON's wife JANET SORCE joined CARMICHAEL DAVE on MONDAY's show to talk about the incident, noting that the bright lights made it difficult to see the edge of the stage; She said she did not see the incident but that he was telling an old radio story when he went head first off the stage and hit the cement floor, losing consciousness for about 30 seconds. She said that her husband sustained a massive concussion and fractured orbital bone and will be out for "a few weeks." Later MONDAY, GERONIMO was released from the hospital and will be recovering at his new home in SACRAMENTO.
GERONIMO, who joined KHTK this year after a two-year hiatus following the end of the syndicated "DON AND MIKE SHOW," was scheduled to be off this week as he completed his move from OCEAN CITY, MD to SACRAMENTO with a cross-country drive.
