NASCAR Sound & Speed Event Cancelled In Nashville

The TENNESSEAN is reporting that NASCAR has cancelled its SOUND & SPEED event, which has been a popular draw to downtown NASHVILLE for the past five years for both NASCAR and Country music fans. The COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME, which is one of the charitable beneficiaries, has announced that SOUND & SPEED will be cancelled for 2011, due to "current economic conditions."
SOUND & SPEED has raised more than $1 million to benefit the COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME and other charities. Participants have included TONY STEWART, DALE EARNHARDT Jr., ALAN JACKSON, TAYLOR SWIFT and KYLE BUSCH.
