GM Paul La Camera To Retire From WBUR

Longtime BOSTON broadcaster PAUL LA CAMERA has announced that he will step down as GM at BOSTON UNIVERSITY noncommercial News-Talk WBUR/BOSTON. LA CAMERA joined the station in 2005 after 33 years at ABC affiliate WCVB-TV, stepping in after JANE CHRISTO's resignation; he will remain at WBUR as University Administrator after stepping down from the GM post at the end of the year, with a replacement to be announced shortly.
"I'm going to be 68 next month and I think that's an appropriate expiration date for someone to be running a dynamic contemporary media entity that increasingly has to surge into the digital world," LA CAMERA told the station's STEVE BROWN. "To be frank, I'm more of a traditionalist and that's not necessarily my strength."
