Former CORPUS CHRISTI radio talk show host BLAKE FARENTHOLD has won election to Congress, winning the race for the 27th district in TEXAS after a recount of ballots demanded by incumbent Rep. SOLOMON ORTIZ (D-TX), who FARENTHOLD will replace.
FARENTHOLD, an attorney, served as JIM LAGO's co-host on "LAGO IN THE MORNING" on MALKAN Talk KEYS-A and, later, CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KKTX-A/CORPUS CHRISTI from 1999 until he launched his candidacy for Congress this year. He also worked as a disc jockey on several stations in the '70s and '80s.
FARENTHOLD's grandmother SISSY FARENTHOLD is a prominent liberal Democratic politician in TEXAS.
