RTDNF Award Scholarships, Fellowships

The RADIO TELEVISION DIGITAL NEWS FOUNDATION has awarded 10 scholarships and four fellowships for 2010. The awards are made on a competitive basis. with nearly half of the scholarships and fellowships dedicated to minorities.
The 2010 Scholarship Winners:
JOE DANIELEWICZ (COLUMBIA UNIV.) and WHITNEY PENNINGTON (UC/BERKELEY): ABE SCHECHTER Graduate Scholarships
LANCE FRANK (LOUISIANA STATE UNIV.): ED BRADLEY Scholarship
ISAIAH TAINO ROSARIO (UNIV. OF TEXAS/AUSTIN): GEORGE FOREMAN Tribute to LYNDON B. JOHNSON Scholarship
JEANNETTE REYES (KENT STATE UNIV.): KEN KASHIWAHARA Scholarship
JACQUELYN S. ADAMS (ELON UNIV.): LOU and CAROLE PRATO Sports Reporting Scholarship

"There has never been a more important time to support journalism education at the college level. I see every day the struggle students are making to pay for school and keep learning how to be the best journalists they can be. I want to thank all the donors who make these scholarships possible every year," said RTDNF Chairman STACEY WOELFEL.
In addition to a cash award, winners will receive a complimentary RTDNA membership and an expense-paid trip to RTDNA/SPJ National Conference and Exhibition, which will take place SEPTEMBER 25th-28th, 2011, in NEW ORLEANS.
