Nick Hunter Passes

On DECEMBER 15th, music industry veteran NICK HUNTER passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. NICK, who was 67 when he passed, worked for many years at the helm of the promotion department as VP/Promotion at WARNER BROS. He also held stints at GIANT RECORDS/NASHVILLE, and most recently at KOCH RECORDS/NASHVILLE, as General Manager.
His development of artists careers were many, including DWIGHT YOAKAM, RANDY TRAVIS, and JOHNNY PAYCHECK, who HUNTER signed to EPIC RECORDS, before his hit “Take This Job And Shove It.”
In addition to his love for the music industry, HUNTER was also well regarded for his knowledge of baseball, and was known as ‘NICK THE STICK,’ on the air at CITADEL Sports WGFX (THE ZONE)/NASHVILLE, where he was a fixture on the GEORGE PLASTER show for many years.
He is survived by his wife MARGIE, son SAM and daughter KATE.
