CBC RADIO EDMONTON morning host RON WILSON has exited "EDMONTON AM" to become an Assignment Editor for CBC EDMONTON for radio, TV, and the Web.
"Being the host of EDMONTON AM has been a dream job, providing me with an opportunity to really connect with the people of this great city and discuss the issues that make a difference in their everyday lives," said WILSON. "While I won't miss getting up before the sun, I will definitely miss speaking with our listeners every day -- but I'll continue to be searching out the stories that matter to them in my new role in the CBC EDMONTON newsroom."
"In his 12 years on EDMONTON AM, Ron has demonstrated a passion for EDMONTON that is unrivalled in this market," said Managing Director of CBC EDMONTON English Services JUDY PIERCEY. "While our listeners will no doubt miss his inquisitive mind and sense of humour in the morning, we are thrilled to have RON bring his knowledge of the city to our newsroom, where he will continue to deliver the quality journalism our audiences expect from their CBC."
