Thorsteinson Named President Of Harris Corp.'s Broadcast Communication Division

HARRIS CORP. has named TIM THORSTEINSON Pres. of the company's Broadcast Communications Division. THORSTEINSON, who had been serving as Pres. of the LEITCH TECHNOLOGY business unit of the HARRIS Broadcast Communications Division, succeeds JEREMY WENSINGER, who is being promoted to a senior leadership position within the HARRIS Government Communications Systems Division. HARRIS acquired LEITCH in OCTOBER 2005.
HARRIS also announced that it is buying broadcast traffic and billing software vendor OPTIMAL SOLUTIONS, INC. for about $32 million. Closing on the deal is expected in early MAY.
