Jaclyn North Wins Texaco Country Showdown

JACLYN NORTH, representing EARLS & ASSOCIATES Country KHOZ/HARRISON, AR., won the 29th Annual COUNTRY SHOWDOWN at the RYMAN AUDITORIUM in
NASHVILLE. CURB RECORDS artist LeANN RIMES presented the Grand Prize of $100,000 to JACLYN at the conclusion of the competition. She was chosen over four other contestants: CARIN MARI who was representing THREE EAGLES Country KBVC/SALIDA, CO; GREG SCUDDER for ENTRAVISION KNTY (101.9 THE WOLF)/SACRAMENTO, CA, KENDALL PHILIPS for CUMULUS Country WFMS/INDIANAPOLIS and REGGIE SHAW for LEGACY COMMUNICATIONS KRGI-F/GRAND ISLAND, NE.
Judges included BRIAM MANSFIELD from USA TODAY; Sr. Dir./A&R for WARNER/CHAPPEL MUSIC, BJ HILL; RON ESSIG, an agent for CREATIVE ARTISTS AGENCY; SONY MUSIC NASHVILLE Sr. Dir./A&R LISA RAMSEY-PERKINS, and CURB RECORDS Dir./A&R JOHN OZIER.
