At least one of the GORES brothers is reportedly interested in buying the LOS ANGELES DODGERS in the event that FRANK and JAMIE MCCOURT, who have divorced, end up selling the team, but the other brother is not as keen to buy the franchise.
BLOOMBERG NEWS reported earlier this week that ALEC GORES, head of GORES TECHNOLOGY GROUP, the investment firm that owns a 75% interest in WESTWOOD ONE, is interested in buying the DODGERS, and suggested that his brother TOM GORES, head of PLATINUM EQUITY, would join the bid. But the DETROIT NEWS is reporting that TOM GORES has said that he is not interesting in bidding for the DODGERS and is instead the leading bidder to buy the NBA's DETROIT PISTONS.
A court has ruled that FRANK and JAMIE MCCOURT each own half of the DODGERS, rejecting FRANK MCCOURT's contention that a disputed document gave him 100% ownership of the team in exchange for giving JAMIE MCCOURT sole ownership of several houses.
