'Kurt Cobain: About A Son' U.S. TV Premiere Airs On Documentary Channel
February 9, 2011 at 11:41 AM (PT)
An intimate and moving portrait on the late musician and artist KURT COBAIN, based on more than 25 hours of never-before-heard interviews conducted by noted ROLLING STONE’S music journalist MICHAEL AZERRAD for his book, "Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana" is the basis for "Kurt Cobain: About A Son."
The DOCUMENTARY CHANNEL (DOC) showcases the exclusive U.S. television premiere on what would have been the rocker’s 44th birthday, 2/20 at 8P ET/PT. In the film, COBAIN recounts his own life from his childhood and adolescence to his days of musical discovery and later dealings with explosive fame and offers sometimes piercing insights into his life, music and hard times. The conversations heard in the film have never before been made public and they reveal a highly personal portrait of an artist much discussed but not well understood.
The documentary will also be made available in its entirety online in DOC’s screening room and will be available on DISH NETWORK and DIRECTV video-on-demand simultaneously with the network’s evening premiere. DOCUMENTARY CHANNEL is primarily available through satellite television services DISH NETWORK (Channel 197) and DIRECTV (Channel 267).
