11th Annual NON-COMMvention Sessions Taking Shape

The 11th annual NONCOMMVENTION is set for MAY 19th-21st -- once again presented by WXPN/PHILADELPHIA, in conjunction with Top22.com. The gathering focuses on the concerns and issues of the public-radio segment of the Triple A community and this year the gathering will be held at the brand new WORLD CAFE LIVE AT THE QUEEN in downtown WILMINGTON, DE.
This year's sessions are now starting to take shape. They include "Doing What We Do Best: Making Great Radio in a Multi-Platform World," which address the paramount importance to continue to make the primary product -- the one on the radio signal -- the center of the listeners’ universe.
WFHB/BLOOMINGTON, IN PD JIM MANION will return for a second year with the "Community Radio Roundtable," which will be an intimate discussion about the whys and wherefores of community radio.
And SEAN COAKLEY of SONGLINES will again compile and host the annual "Music Meeting."
In addition to informative sessions and presentations, there will be plenty of artist performances. Those announced so far include BRIGHT EYES, THE JAYHAWKS, JUNIP, OVER THE RHINE, G. LOVE, DEVOTCHKA, NEW YORK DOLLS, JAMES MCCARTNEY, JOHN POPPER AND THE DUSKRAY TROUBADOURS, SARAH JAROSZ and THE SAM ROBERTS.
Keynote conversations are also planned with ROBBIE ROBERTSON and CLIFF BURNSTEIN.
