Verizon Looks To End iPhone's Unlimited Data Plan

Your audience may have grabbed an iPHONE to listen to you online when it became available on VERIZON WIRELESS (NET NEWS 2/10), but CNET reports "unlimited data plans will no longer be available from the new iPHONE carrier."
VERIZON's CFO FRAN SHAMMO made it clear that current switchers can grab the $30 per month unlimited data plan for their iPhone 4, but that was "not a long-term solution. We see the potential of our customer base spending in that $30 to $50 range. As smartphone prices come down, more people will be able to afford them. We have to get those customers a sufficient entry point. We're still wrestling with what that entry point is."
In other words, look for the data price to rise.
That increase will reportedly happen with the release of the iPHONE5, due sometime this SUMMER.
