For iTUNES users, the ability to listen to music purchased online on multiple devices has always been an issue. Now, BLOOMBERG reports APPLE is negotiating with UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP, SONY MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT, WARNER MUSIC GROUP and EMI MUSIC to give iTUNES customers easier access to music they’ve purchased across multiple devices.
The arrangement is expected to take affect mid-year, and "would give users more flexibility in how they access purchased music. APPLE and the record labels are eager to maintain demand for digital downloading amid rising popularity for Internet services such as PANDORA."
Once in effect, the new plan would make it easier for consumers to have a permanent backup of music they purchased online, as well as access those songs on their iPAD, iPOD and iPHONE linked to the same iTUNES account.
