The FCC's final order authorizing the national test of the Emergency Alert System has been finalized with publication in the Federal Register TUESDAY (3/8).
The final rule provides that national tests will be preceded by two months' notice from the FCC's Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau, and that participants will submit test data to the bureau within 45 days after a national test. The Commission will also issue a public notice for a voluntary electronic reporting system for participants to submit data from the tests.
