Symposium on Women's Media Ownership Set For D.C.

The ALLIANCE FOR WOMEN IN MEDIA (AWM), in partnership with GEORGETOWN LAW’s Institute for Public Representation and HOWARD UNIVERSITY’s School of Communications, will host a Symposium that examines women and media ownership. The one-day educational event will take place on MARCH 25th, 2011, at the NAB headquarters in WASHINGTON, DC.
The Symposium on Women’s Media Ownership will examine how ownership impacts opportunities for women to contribute to management and content, as well as have a share in overall success. The keynote address will be delivered by ANA R. HARVEY, Office of Women's Business Ownership, U.S. SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION.
"The ALLIANCE FOR WOMEN IN MEDIA is proud to host some of the leading experts on media ownership to discuss their strategies and successes," AWM Chair SYLVIA STROBEL said. "In an era of increased consolidation in the media industry, media ownership is a critical issue to women in our field."
