New 2010 Census figures peg the Hispanic segment of the population at a little over 50 million, or 16.3% of the nation’s population. The Hispanic population increased by a whopping 43% since the 2000 Census.
"For UNIVISION the 2010 Census figures validate what we’ve known for years - Hispanics are fueling U.S. population growth and redefining the changing face of AMERICA," UNIVISION NETWORKS Pres. CESAR CONDE said. "These figures speak to the critical role Hispanics will play in defining the future of this country. As UNIVISION prepares to host a town hall on education with PRESIDENT OBAMA on MONDAY, we remain focused on critical issues, such as education, that impact the fastest growing segment of the nation."
"This is a clear wake-up call to anyone marketing goods and services in this country," ADELANTE CEO JAY MEYERS said. "It is impossible to secure the long term health of your business if you do not spend the time and money to market to the fastest growing segment of your potential customer group.”
"The Census results confirm what we already knew," ADELANTE COO ED KRAMPF added. "Since the inception of Adelante, our number one initiative has been to educate general market business owners on the secret that Spanish business owners have known for a long time, the power of the Hispanic consumer."
