Alliance for Women in Media Names Its New Board

The ALLIANCE FOR WOMEN IN MEDIA (AWM) has named its 2011 National Board of Directors, who were officially installed last week in WASHINGTON, D.C., in conjunction with the AWM Board Meeting and Symposium on Women’s Media Ownership. CBS RADIO Market Controller VALERIE K. BLACKBURN will serve as the National Chair.
"The AWM has an ambitious agenda ahead of us," BLACKBURN said. "From our Symposium Series to the GRACIE AWARDS to our 60th Anniversary Celebration, AWM is actively engaging, recognizing, and promoting women in media. I’m excited to work with such a talented and committed group of media professionals to accomplish our goals this year."
Serving as Vice Chair of AWM is LOCAL FOCUS RADIO Pres. KAY OLIN; the Treasurer is DISCOVERY COMMUNICATIONS SVP/Global Content Operations KRISTEN WELCH; and the Treasurer-Elect is media consultant SARAH FOSS.
